| OPERA THEATER OF LAKELAND ANNOUNCES AUDITIONS FOR THE 2008 - 2009 SEASON Auditions will be held at the Tuesday Music Club 421 E Park Street, Lakeland, FL 33803 on Saturday, September 6, 2008. ADULT CHORUS The Opera Theater of Lakeland Chorus is comprised of a diverse group of men and women of all professions and backgrounds. Choristers accepted into the company will receive a detailed schedule of rehearsals for each production. The 2008-2009 season productions in which the chorus will participate are: Singers are asked to prepare two contrasting selections (arias or art songs), one in English and one in Italian. Both should be memorized. An accompanist will be provided (accompanist fee is $25, payable by cash or check), but singers can bring their own. CHILDREN'S CHORUS The Opera Theater of Lakeland Children’s Chorus is comprised of grade school- aged students from throughout the Central Florida area. Choristers will receive a detailed schedule of rehearsals for each production. Singers are asked to bring a prepared song in English (folk song, art song, hymn, etc.) with sheet music; an accompanist will be provided or you may bring your own. After performing their selection, singers may be asked to demonstrate vocal range for the artistic staff. COMPRIMARIO ROLES AND CONSIDERATION FOR FUTURE SEASONS The Opera Theater of Lakeland is committed to bringing high caliber opera productions to the Central Florida area. We strive to provide opportunities for emerging performers and established professionals and are eager to hear regionally- based talent. Future productions will include: Carmen, Madama Butterfly, Aïda, Maria Stuarda, Turandot, Ariadne auf Naxos, and Die Walküre Singers are asked to prepare two contrasting arias, one in English and one in Italian.
